Giulio Reina received the Laurea degree and the Research Doctorate degree from the Politecnico of Bari, Italy in 2000 and 2004 respectively, both in Mechanical Engineering. From 2002 to 2003, he worked at the University of Michigan Mobile Robotics Laboratory as a Visiting Scholar. In 2007, he was awarded a Japanese Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship for a one-year research at the Space Robotics Laboratory of Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. In 2010, Dr. Reina was also selected to receive an Endeavour Research Fellowship at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics of the University of Sydney, Australia. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management, Politecnico di Bari, Italy. His research interests include mobile robotics for planetary exploration, vehicle dynamic modeling and estimation, underactuated mechanisms and grippers, and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) for automotive and agriculture industry towards self-driving vehicles.
