Prof. James Yang (FASME, FSAE, SM IEEE) is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas Tech University and he directs the Human-Centric Design Research Lab. His research interests include biomechanics, human modeling, interaction between exoskeleton and human body, robotics, and vehicle dynamics.

He is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics, Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology, International Journal of Human Factors Modelling and Simulation, International Journal of Robotics and Automation, and Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing and Service Industries. He also serves in the editorial board for International Journal in Industrial Ergonomics, and Automotive Innovation. He serves in the technical committee for ASME AMS, SAE Load Simulation and Vehicle Performance.
