Dr Chin-Hsing Kuo received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from King’s College London, UK in 2011. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wollongong, Australia. His research interest is focused on the physical human-robot interaction, reconfigurable mechanisms and robots, and rehabilitation and surgical robotics. Along with this, he has intensive multidisciplinary research and industrial collaboration experience encompassing the innovative design for industrial robots and biomechanical systems with applications in medical devices, assistive technologies, and surgical robotics.

He received several prestigious international awards including the ASME Freudenstein/General Motors Young Investigator Award. Dr Kuo is active in ASME and IFToMM communities. He is an Elective Member of ASME Mechanisms and Robotics Committee for the terms 2015-2020 and 2021-2026 and a member and Deputy Chair of IFToMM Technical Committee for Linkages and Mechanical Controls. He is currently the Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics and the Topic Editor of Mechanical Sciences, an IFToMM affiliated journal.
